198 CHICKS FOR ADOPTION

To perform the act by the International Animal Rights Day organized by the VEDDAS days 8 and 9 December (learn more by visiting www.veddas.org.br/dida2013), Our volunteers came from São Paulo to visit farms and farms in search of animals discarded by industry. Markets were also visited in the city. On one of the expeditions to the state, was visited a facility that discards thousands of animals daily, male chicks born where the industry sees use only for females. But to our surprise (or the lot of these animals), the chicks were delivered alive and not dead as is usually the case in these locations. Were 200 separate boxes and another was rescued animals. One of them died within the same day and two are under special care because they are debilitated.

Naturally, these animals were not used for the act and now we 198 chicks (which quickly became chickens) searching for a home in a house or place where adopters undertake to ensure them a life of freedom, finalized only upon the natural death. We do not expect a single person to adopt all 198 chicks. Anyone who wants to apply, may adopt 1 or more of those animals that are now, each, a symbol of freedom for the billions who are killed annually by this industry.

All are temporarily housed at a site to 150 km da capital (pela Rodovia Castello Branco), but this space is only temporary. Per hour, they seem very happy to be living in freedom. Chicks cling easily to people, and usually follow them around the house. They are very docile and very fond of nesting in human lap to nap. Chickens have distinct personalities among individuals and are extremely sociable. Therefore, is interesting to adopt more of an animal so that they have a company who can grow and live together. If you have a home or a place, You can make all the difference in the lives of these animals.

If you want to adopt one or more of the animals, and can ensure its life in freedom and security, write to dida2013@veddas.org.br
