Vegan education is the theme of Cine VEDDAS SP of April

Day 24 April, the film will be shown in the project Vegan Cine VEDDAS that takes place every month in partnership with Pack Cultural in São Paulo. The session will be attended vegan educator and activist Leon Denis who will talk about their experience in the classroom, leading topics of animal rights in their philosophy classes, and the use of audiovisual in school. Nina Rose was also invited to speak about the experience of the use of film in education of children and youth and on the production of the animated film Vegan. The film tells the story of a teenager who Luka, influenced by an aunt, DECIDED to become vegan. Vegan portrays the process of Luka, their challenges in finding a more compassionate life in the fight for the ideal of non-violence.

Leon Denis is vegan activists and educator, defilosofia teacher in state schools of São Paulo. Leon works the subject animal rights throughout the curriculum of their discipline in the schools where he teaches. Author of Vegan Education: topics of animal rights in school, released in 2012, Leon is also a columnist for ANDA e Luta jiu-jitsu.

About Cine VEDDAS: The project was created by the arm VEDDAS in Rio Grande do Norte in early 2012 on a monthly basis. Last year, São Paulo started the project with the screening of "Jill's Film" with the presence of British director John Curtin. Now Cine VEDDAS will be held monthly in partnership with Cultural aa Pack all s 4th Wednesdays of the month. The units in Recife VEDDAS even begin the project this semester monthly themed films in animalistic. "Cine VEDDAS is a circuit of screenings by animal activists and the center of debate in several Brazilian cities at the same time", Bia diz Dantas, project coordinator. The project will also be introduced in Luxembourg in September this year. "The International Animal Rights Conference will feature a presentation on this initiative integrated diffusion film animalistic, plus one share that part of our work in Brazil to serve as a model for activists abroad ", says the president of the NGO VEDDAS, George Guimarães.
