Protest Day 5 May and Intervention Sheriff Dilma at MASP, São Paulo / SP
CALL FOR PUBLIC ACT BY PRESIDENTIAL VETO TOTAL substitute the Brazilian Forest Code
In the days 24 and 25 April were approved in the House of Representatives change the Brazilian Forest Code. For us, changes represent a step backwards in the Brazilian environmental legislation, it favors the increase of deforestation and promotes amnesty for violations and environmental crimes carried, encouraging impunity. These changes directly benefit the rural caucus, which currently includes approximately 30% Chamber. Formed by deputies, which mostly, are large landowners and defend the interests of a political group with environmental liabilities.
The text approved by the House, however, still be subject to the sanction of President Dilma Rousseff that during the election campaign 2010, signed undertaking that he would veto any devices that amnesties without environmental crimes and promoted deforestation. Therefore, charge to be fulfilled what was promised, demand the president's veto.
