Ato no DIDA (International Day of Animal Rights) 2011
From 1998, the day 10 December is remembered worldwide as the International Day of Animal Rights. The VEDDAS organizes protests since that date 2006 (Pioneer in the date in Brazil), and remains the copyright of the largest and most dramatic protests in the country on that date.
This year, the VEDDAS repeated the controversial protest held in 2010, this time doubling dose to 2 days. In the center of the city of São Paulo, just 100 meters from the City Hall building, VEDDAS activists held in his arms the carcasses of animals exploited for their meat, skin and secretions, or those victimized by science and other forms of animal exploitation.
The same scene was repeated the next day on the Avenida Paulista, where more than 30 volunteers were present for the ceremony which began at 14 hours and lasted until the early morning hours.
While some activists held the bodies of animals victimized by the industry's exploration, others spoke on the megaphone and talking directly to the audience explaining the reason for the act.
The impact of such an approach is always very intense, were observed in the reactions of the most perplexing of all our actions. The VEDDAS-CARTE and VEDDAS-MOBILE attended displaying images that helped complete exposure of the reality of animal exploitation.
The VEDDAS explains that during the process of obtaining corpses no animal was purchased or any profit was generated for the industry of animal exploitation. All cadavers were obtained from the disposal of industrial or animal sanctuaries where they eventually came to death.
