About the speaker:
Rynn Berry is professor, vegano high 30 years and vegetarian for 47 years. He has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania (USA) and teacher pela Columbia (USA) in Classical Archaeology and Ancient Studies. Translator of texts in Greek, Latin is Sânscrito. Fluent in French and German.
He taught at the graduate course on vegetarianism and animal rights at the University of Cornel, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, University of New School, University of Pitsburg. In the U.S. he is a member of the advisory committee of Earth Save International organizations, The Meat Free Zone, Vegetarian and Vision. Traveled and lectured in all European countries as well as extensively in Asia.
Rynn has been invited to speak multiple times throughout vegetarian organization, vegan and animal rights in U.S. primary, as well as in five World Congresses Vegans / Vegetarians: USA (San Diego, Pitisburgo), Germany, Scotland, Canada. He is the author of five major works on vegetarianism and animal rights: The New Vegetarian, Famous Vegetarians and their Favorite Recipes, Food for the Gods: Vegetarians and World Religions, Hitler: Not vegetarian or animal lover, and The Vegan Guide to New York City. His books have been translated into twelve languages (Nepalese, Italian, hindi, Taiwan, Chinese, Bulgarian, German, Hungarian, French, Russian, polonês e holandês). He wrote articles on fletcherismo, Veganism, vegetarianism, crudivorismo, influence of diet on animal rights, for the Oxford Encyclopedia of Food and Beverage North American (2005) and the Oxford Companion to Food and Drink American (2007), all published by Oxford University Press.
His numerous articles, well as reviews of his books, appeared in magazines that promote animal rights and vegetarianism, such as Animals' agenda, Vegetarian Voice, The American Vegan, Ahimsa, e em jornais como The Sunday London Telegraph, The Times of London, The New York Times, The Washington Post. Has published articles in scholarly journals indexed (The Journal of the New York Culinary Historians, etc.).
Rynn is the author of six plays on themes vegans and animal rights, that were presented and acted upon throughout the U.S., and were also translated into Portuguese. Soon they will be published in book form. Rynn is a frequent guest of radio and TV programs such as: Go Vegan, Go Vegan Texas, The Howard Stern Show (national radio program non-vegetarian with high audience), Walden’s Pond (radio program vegetarian), The Brian Lehrer Show (Emission System Public Radio non-vegetarian), Larry King Show (TV show interviews non-vegetarian).
Rynn contributed slogans and sayings on t-shirts and garments that promote vegetarianism and animal rights (eg, "There is a slice of veal in every glass of milk"). It is a frequent visitor of protests in defense of animal rights such as Fur-Free Friday (Friday free fur coats), The Great American Meatout (The Great Off-the-North American Meat), Boycott Australian Wool (Boicote a Lã Australiana), No Live Animals Transportation (Not the Transport of Live Animals), Antivivisection Rally, Earth Day (Day Planet), Anti-hunting seals in Canada (No hunting of seals in Canada), Protest Against Norwegian and Japanese Whaling (Protest Against Japanese Whalers and Norueguenses) others.
