International Conference on Animal Rights 2013 em Luxemburgo
Veddas held 4 lectures at the International Conference of Animal Rights in Luxembourg, occupying ten percent of programming international event themed abolitionist and libertarian, NGO activists VEDDAS present lectures on "animal rights activism in Brazil", "Building Alliances with Other Social Movements", "Vegan Nutrition" and "Project CINE VEDDAS", marking strong presence in editing 2013 Conference.
The aim of International Animal Rights Conference held in Luxembourg is to provide an international platform for animal rights activists from around the world can build networks and present the work being developed through lectures, offices, discussions, reports and social activities. The choice to hold the conference in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg guarantees its truly international character as this small country is located right in the heart of Europe a short distance from Germany, Belgium and France, accessible with a few minutes drive.
The president of the NGO VEDDAS, George Guimarães, hold three lectures mentioned above and activist Nathalia Cury expose the model of project success “CINE VEDDAS: Show Mensal Film animalistic ", coordinated in Brazil by filmmaker Bianca Dantas and this semester was joined by 12 cities to host monthly film screenings animalistic. The activists of the NGO VEDDAS Jully Iguchi and Jo Miyamoto will also attend the conference this year, thus intensifying the exchange of experiences with the international movement and enabling even more to act effectively in promoting and defending animal rights in Brazil.
The participation of NGOs in the previous edition VEDDAS (2012) the International Conference of Animal Rights in Luxembourg allowed activists from around the world had contact with the scenario of the animal rights movement in Brazil, whose exhibitions have drawn a parallel between including other social movements including the VEDDAS actively participated in previous years, entering the animal rights movement in other social struggles, as was the case of the campaign against the construction of Belo Monte and against the adoption of the new Forest Code. The presence of Brazilian activists in the last edition of the conference was to figure prominently in newspapers and radio stations in the region (as Radio ARA Journal of Austria and Luxembourg Contact).
Editing 2012 with the presence of the Spanish and Austrian activists arrested in previous years (Austrian 10 The Spanish 12) and the process which now account for free, the founder of the ALF (Animal Liberation Front) Ronnie Lee, the libertarian philosopher Steve Best, activists' campaign of Green Hill who freed dozens of dogs from a vivisection lab in Italy and activist Chris Rose who for many years served as a liaison with the Animal Liberation Front, among other important figures of the movement. Editing 2013 international conference in Luxembourg is being awaited bringing the list of speakers names like the American philosopher Gary Francione and activists from China, UK, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Poland, Holland, South Africa and Germany, Apart from the aforementioned Brazilian activists.
