Protest at Avenida Paulista, Sao Paulo, SP
Over 2 thousand people gathered in the city of São Paulo in 05 June 2011, World Environment Day, to protest the approval of the New Forest Code and the construction of the hydroelectric plant of Belo Monte.
The rally was convened in conjunction with other social movements. The protest had 4 -hour, beginning at 14 hours in front of the MASP and featured the presence of demonstrators from different movements, including environmental movements, indigenous, student and animal rights, that throughout the protest had the freedom to make decisions in relation to the act and express their outrage the way they chose.
