For the first time in the history of protests at Avenida Paulista, bonfires were lighted in the midst of the Avenue, one in the intersection with Rua Haddock Lobo and another in Alameda Tietê, in front of the headquarters of IBAMA. Two thousand people, including more than a hundred Indians who came to the city, marched for two hours under constant rain.

The VEDDAS actively participated in the organization in the weeks leading up to the protest, facilitating the visit of the caciques and Megaron Txucarramae Yabuti Metyktire, nephews of Chief Raoni, who came to attend the Xingu protest, apart from carrying over 100 indigenous people who live in communities near São Paulo. In partnership with VEGETHUS, Purse Food and Slow Food Movement, VEDDAS facilitated the distribution of meals to over 100 indigenous representatives who were brought to the protest with logistical aid VEDDAS, who brokered the donation of an international NGO which enabled its transportation.
