Protest at Avenida Paulista, Sao Paulo, SP
On 17 December 2011, in another partnership with the Movement For Brazil Forests, was performed last year's protest against the construction of the hydroelectric plant of Belo Monte and Brazil's Forest Code reform, two themes to which VEDDAS devoted much of its energy during the second half of the year.
Indigenous groups were invited to attend and participate in every protest along with over 2 thousand people gathered in the span of the MASP and during 2 hours marched to the Republic Square.
During the trip, intervention in unannounced, the intersection of Avenida Paulista and Rua Augusta was closed during 10 minutes for the construction of a "barrier" symbolic, time the public lay on the floor to have the silhouettes of their bodies painted on asphalt, symbolizing the death of the forest and the animals and peoples that it habitam.
Besides painting the bodies, slogans were recorded on asphalt this important intersection in the city of São Paulo.
